Dont visit any Dolphinshow... E-mail

Of course the debate will continue for ever, and we dont want to start a heated discussion here.  But in an obvious way it can be said that wild animals belong in the wild and should not be made a spectacle of in a zoo or aquarium.

It is a fact that dolphins and other sea mammals in captivity usually have a high mortality rate due to physical and emotional depression and lack of care.

Thailand's record on animal husbandry is abysmal. Money wins over welfare and scientific conservation every time

Visitors of Dolphins show say:

"I've been to the "Temple of Truth" - Pattaya a couple of times and the dolphins are a rather shabby affair."
or
"...it is at Laem Sing, ChanthaBuri Province. Its website claims visitors, for a price, can swim with dolphins, however it doesn't get too many mentions on travel fora and one I have seen mentions the poor quality of the water."

Did you know? With every visit of a Dolphin-show one of the most cruel slaughtering in this world is supported. In the annual slaughtering of Dolphins in Taiji, Japan, they capture some of the dolphins to sell them to Dolphinshows round the world.

In a drive fishery they urge the dolphins to a bay where they are stabbed. Waters become red, in wild panic pregnant dolphins loose their calve.

See Ric O’Barrys award winning movbie “The Cove”. He was the dolphin trainer for the 1960s “Flipper” TV series and became an opponent of keeping Dolphins in suspect conditions. Due to the fact that almost all Doplphins in Shows are catched from the wild (often in Taiji/Japan) everyone should oppose any trial to visit a dolphinshow in captivity.

Dont support this just because you want to see a Dophin now. Instead of this try to find out a spot where to meet them in the see, where they belong too.

Hi ambassador of Dolphin and Whale Killer Nation No.1

i dont understand at all how a nation can stick to one of the most cruel but useless slaughterings in the world.

Not only that Japan lies to the world slaughtering whales for scientific reasons. You also bribe other nations to vote for u.

Do u really think the majority believe it when u try to cheat the world?

Shame on u. If Japan were an undeveloped African or Southamerican nation one would think they are the wild and dont know how to exist on a better way.

But why does a nation like japan stick to these very sad happenings, year by year? These intelligent animals you kill suffer up to more than one hour before they have an extremly painful death.

Dont the Japanese people have any feelings? Consist the Japanese majority out of beasts? It seems that is the case...

Shame on your Nation.

Hope there will be a change since i never give up hope

Japanese activists against the whaleslaughtering are in danger. They publish widespread corruption in the whalingindustry and the government want to imprison them.

So far i only have information in german language, if you are interested in more information ask the greenpeace office in your country.

Kurzinfo: http://blog.greenpeace.de/menschenrechte-walfang/

Hier geht's zur Petition, bitte unterschreiben! Danke:-)

Stop the Slaughter of Risso's Dolphins in Faroe Island E-mail

Please support a petition against another regularly Dolphins slaughtering just for fun of the slaughterer:

http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/Sto...RissosDolphins

You can add some personalized words. Mine were: "The civilized world is against any useless slaughtering of any sensing beings. Stop this crime against Whales and Dolphines on these damned islands. How could these people slaughtering for fun and so called culture lost all their own senses for other beings feelings? Stop Dolphin Slaughtering now"

You are free to find your own words or to start or use my words. Just copy and paste.

Whats the case?

In March 09 it was reported that the people of the Feroe Island in Denmark were caught slaughtering many Risso's Dolphins in celebration of their toughness. Risso's Dolphins are of friendly nature, and trust only humans, therefore when they get close to shore, they are caught in nets and slughtered. Tell Anders Fogh Rasmussen to say no to this, and stop these rapid and heartless killings at once.
Whaling in the Faroe Islands has been practiced since 1584. It is regulated by Faroese authorities but not by the International Whaling Commission as there are disagreements about the Commission's legal authority to regulate small cetacean hunts. A couple of hundred long-finned pilot whales (Globicephala melaena) are killed every couple of years, mainly during the summer. The hunts, called "grindadr%uFFFDp" in Faroese, are non-commercial and are organized on a community level; anyone can participate. The hunters first surround the pilot whales with a wide semicircle of boats. The boats then drive the pilot whales slowly into a bay or to the bottom of a fjord.
Most Faroese consider the hunt an important part of their culture and history. Animal-rights groups criticize the hunt as being cruel and unnecessary, while the hunters claim in return that most journalists do not exhibit sufficient knowledge of the catch methods or its economic significance.
As of the end of November 2008, the chief medical officers of the Faroe Islands have recommended that pilot whales no longer be considered fit for human consumption because of the levels of toxins in the whales.
